At Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World, the manic, wildly entertaining Toy Story Mania ride opened in 2008 to rave reviews, long lines and a lot of ecstatic, happy customers. Deciding between Wii and the other platforms?

I pre-orderd and took home both the XBOX 360 and Wii versions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

We’ll get one thing right off the bat. In terms of comparing to the original MUA game, graphics and gameplay-wise, the Wii version would be more akin to MUA v1.5 (whereas the 360 and PS3 version make use of the improved engine).

Meh. Maybe my expectations were a little too high?

Each of the past two years, I’ve bought EA’s NHL release for the X-box 360 (NHL 2008 and NHL 2009). While both games had a few drawbacks, they were both a lot of fun to play — alone, with friends, and online. By comparison, 2K10 for the Wii is pretty terrible.

The Wii isn’t an HD console, so it wouldn’t really be fair to compare the graphics of this game on the Wii to the graphics of NHL 2009 on the 360; but after playing NHL 2009 on the 360, 2K10 on the Wii is just painful to look at. (I was expecting it to be Read the rest of this entry »

Very well-polished game that truly captures the feel and character of the original Scooby Doo series. Three words: REDUNDANT TEST RUN,

Great game similar to Sonic Unleashed! It has very good replay value, but must give it a break after 20 minutes or so. Unless you do much jumping and doing much trial and error, you won’t survive for long. Like Paper Mario games, there is too much dialogue you can’t skip for the most part.

Not bad…for $20,

Revising my review after a week of owning the game. Here’s a rundown of each of the games:

Darts - once you get the hang of it, which doesn’t really take that long, it’s fun. Especially nice is the fact that up to four players can compete in this game at once. Custom darts/boards are unlockable.

Hoop Shoot - this can get tiring, but is fun for quick competitions between friends. Getting the ball to stay straight can be a little bit of a challenge at times.

Skill Ball - aka Skee ball - is fun. The controls are pretty much the same as Wii bowling, and the only thing you need to watch out for is throwing too hard. Also, this only has a one player mode, but Read the rest of this entry »

Great Fishing Game,

I’ve been looking forward to this game since its announcement. I still play the orginal bass fishing and sega marine fishing on the Dreamcast because they are so much fun.

Fish to catch, things to do and places to see!

When I first saw this game I thought it might be boring, but there are enough different fish, challenges and places to see to keep it interesting. That said, I would rate it as primarily a family game, a great way for kids and parents or grandparents to share some fun family time together. It’s not too difficult for kids maybe 5 or 6 and up, and not too childish for an adult to enjoy.
